Increasing Green Cover
The tree plantation program aims to plant saplings, maintain, and increase the green cover, and drive carbon sequestration. Since 2016, we have planted more than 4 lac trees across Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. As part of our green initiative, we greet our stakeholders/employees with Tree Certificates. For each certificate, we plant two trees in the name of the stakeholders/employees and track the tree’s growth with a unique tree certificate number. We have partnered with NGOs – SayTrees, Being Volunteer Foundation, Swades Foundation, Shop For Change, Sustainable Green Initiative Foundation, Haritika, Eagle Livelihood, Applied Environmental Research Foundation (AERF), Anchalik Jana Kalyan Anusthan, and Dilasa Janvikas Pratishthan – to plant and maintain the trees.
Water harvesting
Another intervention in this direction is our water harvesting project to help farmers have a regular water source through the year and create a model of equal partnership between LTIMindtree and our communities.
