Supporting Incubation and Research Centres
Solving for society is one of LTIMindtree beliefs. As a technology company, LTIMindtree runs multiple projects by which we try to make a difference in the community and achieve sustainable development goals by leveraging technology – primarily SDG 4 Quality Education and SDG 9 Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. In this spirit, LTIMindtree has been supporting many research and incubation projects through collaboration with academic, research institutions, and incubators, thus supporting this ecosystem to develop innovative technological solutions across Karnataka, Telangana, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu.
IIT Madras: LTIMindtree has undertaken the “Setup of Industry-Academia consortium for Quantum Computing,” research and innovation-related project. Together, we will set up the consortium and inform consortia members on the national QuST(Quantum Information Science & Technology) policy decisions.
Also, we have funded to develop an indigenous 5Gi network for better rural connectivity in the 5G testbed, encompassing the design and simulation of 700MHz RF hardware and FPGA boards in Chennai.
Avishkar (VJTI): Through Avishkar, LTIMindtree is building infrastructure for an incubation center that will foster transformational research and innovation. We are also providing seed fund support to entrepreneurs and startups contributing to society’s social development and sustainable development goals.
Maitreyi (IIT Bombay): LTIMindtree is jointly involved in a research and development program at IITB on a reinforcement learning-based conversational agent “Maitreyi” to develop an emotional understanding capability. This leverages Natural Language Processing (NLP) to develop an advanced conversational AI that can find applications in multiple scenarios.
Student Satellite Program (IIT Bombay): LTIMindtree is funding the ‘Student Satellite Program’ that aspires to develop modular satellite subsystems that can be integrated into a nanosatellite to be launched by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) in their upcoming missions. This student-run initiative also aims to raise awareness among school and college students on developing space-grade technology and thus foster the advancement of space science in India.
NITIE: LTIMindtree is supporting NITIE in building ESG Strategies and Analytics Lab on its premises. This lab is envisioned to emerge as a hub for collaborations and activities among multiple stakeholders in the ESG and sustainability space, which may include efforts like the development of specialized ESG courses, outreach and skill-building activities with government and NGOs, scholarships and training for students pursuing a degree/career in sustainability, tasks, conferences and many more. LTIMindtree had earlier funded a research project of NITIE students trying to develop innovative next-gen models for the manufacturing space.

The virtual learning project leverages technology to connect children in the remote villages of India to passionate volunteer teachers, over a video conferencing tool.
