What Does GDPR Mean for Big Data, Analytics, Cloud & AI?
Sep 21, 2017Venue: techUK, 10 St. Bride Street, London
With less than a year to go until the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies in the UK, techUK will be holding a briefing session, focusing on the implications of GDPR on Cloud Computing, Big Data, Data Analytics and AI industries.
At the event, Satya Samal, Chief Business Officer, LTI, will discuss the potential impact of the GDPR on organizations providing Cloud, Big Data and AI services. Discussions will also focus on the key aspects of the GDPR that members need to be aware of, and will provide advice and key tips on how to start preparing for the implementation.
The EU GDPR comes into effect in the UK and across Europe on May 25, 2018, and represents the most significant reform of data protection laws in the last twenty years. The implementation of GDPR will have implications for organizations across all sectors that collect and process personal data. Given that Big Data, Data Analytics, AI and Cloud Computing companies generate, access, process, manage, store and share vast quantities of data in their daily operations, introduction of the GDPR will undoubtedly be an important development.
