​Citation Lauds Mr. Naik’s Sterling Service to Nation & Society 

​​​Our Group Executive Chairman Mr. A.M. Naik was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Letters Degree from the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University. The doctorate is in recognition of Mr. Naik’s long and distinctive contribution to the nation to society. ​

Mr. Naik received the Doctorate at the hands of the Governor of Gujarat, and Chancellor of the University Mr. Om Prakash Kohli in Surat on February 26, 2016.​

Accepting the honour, Mr.Naik referred to his grandfather and his father as his role models, since they devoted their lives to teaching underprivileged children in his village. Continuing this legacy, Mr.Naik is contributing to the teaching field through his family trust, various NGOs and educational establishments. Mr.Naik quoted examples from his 51 years of dedicated service to L&T and in turn to society and nation.

This unique distinction is the third in Mr. Naik’s illustrious career – following the Honoris Causa he received from the Sardar Patel University of Vallabh Vidyanagar in 2011, and the doctorate from the Gujarat Technological University in 2013.

The VNSGU is among the state’s most reputed universities. Set up in 1965, and named after a renowned poet and social reformer of 18th Century Gujarat – Narmadashankar Lalshankar Dave, it is committed to evolving into an institute of excellence in the realms of higher and technical education.
