Oct 7, 2023Kolkata, India, October 7, 2023: LTIMindtree [NSE: LTIM, BSE: 540005], a global technology consulting and digital solutions company, today announced that it has constructed and inaugurated the first inclusive park in the residential area of New Town in Kolkata, with support from the New Town Kolkata, Development Authority West Bengal(NKD). New Town is a part of the Smart City project, and this inclusive park was created with CMB India Trust as the implementation partner. The park has over 30 pieces of play equipment and is open to children of all ages and calibers.
Inclusion under CSR is success critical and an intrinsic composition of the corporate ideology of LTIMindtree. LTIMindtree has been committed to creating an environment of inclusion and has spearheaded multiple ongoing initiatives across the country. In Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, in association with Sujaya Foundation, LTIMindtree has set up three training centers to empower specially-abled youth with essential digital literacy training, enabling them to earn their livelihood. The project also focuses on soft skills, speed, and accuracy with data entry by imparting those necessary skill sets. LTIMindtree also supports the vocational skills training program in Chennai, in partnership with The Spastics Society of Tamil Nadu (SPASTN), to train specially-abled youth with vocational skills, boosting employability.
“As a socially conscious global enterprise, we at LTIMindtree realise that the future needs to be benchmarked not just by the financial resources we invest in but also measured by the care, compassion, and time that we willingly give. Our CSR initiative focuses on building an inclusive and sensitive world that accepts and encourages the growth and success of individuals who require additional support and assistance in enabling them to be employable as well as be accepted by the community. While we train specially-abled adults across the country with vocational skills, we understand that awareness, compassion, and learning should start at an early age to ensure they are included in mainstream society. This park for children has been built to provide this opportunity for all children to come together and help build a stronger future,” said Paneesh Rao, Chief Sustainability Officer, LTIMindtree.
In collaboration with Amba, LTIMindtree’s project trains 400 intellectually disabled youths/adults for employment across 20 centers in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Telangana. The program primarily focuses on data-entry skills, equipping participants with the means to secure a meaningful livelihood. LTIMindtree’s Integrated Development Program for children with disabilities, implemented by The Spastics Society Of Tamil Nadu (Spastn) in Old Washermanpet, Chennai, successfully provided special education, physiotherapy interventions, speech training, and communication training. This project achieved positive outcomes in both functional abilities and overall health and well-being of 72 children.
